Well the 2nd. Annual day out went with a bang! (sorry Phil). In total 9 of us made the trip to Port Meirion in north Wales. We left Tescos in Gloucester for about 8.00am and made our way across country through Wales, stopping several times to rest and drink lots of water.
We arrived at about 1.00pm and spent a few hours walking around eating icecream and paddling on the beach. The drive home was just as good as the trip out until we reached Newent. It was here that Phils engine, which had been clattering a bit, threw a rod through the side of the block! An imperfect end toan otherwise perfect day.

Along for the ride other than myself were:- PeteG, Novagirl, Rob Fairbrother, PhilM, Tom Stickland, Andi, Tilly & James.

There were othere on the cards to come along but various things got in the way, next year, huh? :D

been there often. we have a holiday home in mid wales. portmerion is a very nice place

was the home of the tv series prisoner "i am not a number" and all that

It was indeed mike, that's the reason I wanted to go. Got the series on DVD, really good but weht a little weird towards the end......

Glad you had a good time Dave.

Shame about Phil's car, he said it was going really well up until that point, keeping up with Pete even :)

Twas a good day indeed Dave-thanks for organising it.
Ross-both me and phil are keen to do some serious performance testing before I give him the 1.6 8v. Reckon he might have a half decent replacement lump soon. :)

i do have a 1.6 and a 1.3 for sensible money (both need re ringing - dodgy oil scraper ring on port three on both engines soincidence or what)

it was a cool day except the roads were mad kept waking up cause of the madness driving.
I actually sunbathed on that beach to mmmmmmm well nice
