Right im planning a engine conversion next year and im weighing up my options as im looking for performance on the cheep. So far my mate has offered me a 1.4 nova sri setup and ive been looking at an xe conversion but i had to sell my early 20xe engine to pay for my nova and ive come across a 2.0 or a 2.5 vectra that i could use as a donor car cheeper than buying a xe conversion or a small block xe which ive also been thinking of. Is there much differance in fitting a ecotec to a nova and would i be able to run a digi dash off it?

2.0 ecotec is nigh on the same as an xe just the imobaliser to sort but if buying full car will be fine

And digi runs off gearbox so will be fine

Can you still get the rpm signal as ive heard of people fitting xe engines into cars running a ecotec and not being able to get the rev counter to work

the v6 in hobbits car is the only ecotec i've done anything electrical on & we took the v6 signal, put it thru a converter box to work on his '4pot' dash, and it was absolutely fine.
