what does changing the octane plug from 95 to 98 do? without sounding silly here?

Also What happens if you are running opitmax or super uL on 98 and then put unleaded in but dont switch it back to 95?

it advances the timing on the engine.

by not swoping back you can get pre-ignition which can damage the engine

the more the timing can be advanced without the engine pinking the more power and better burn you will get. bascially u will get a slight power increase and if you have any flat spots it shud help level those out
