What make of Engine mounts shall i use for 2lr 16v??????

As it says above...

im goin to have a bit of money left over so i thought id buy some proper mounts... ive been looking at the TAS ones in demon tweeks.. Anyone know anything about them are they direct replacement or what ???

What do other people use??? i would just get it in there but i wanna do it properly..

Also do u have to use nova GTE shafts ??? cants u just use sr ones as long as you get the inner cv on them ????????????

Cheers Slatter

if i remember rightly(which i probably dont) them TAS mounts still require that the front engine mount be dropped drown.

they probably will be nice and hard but maybe to hard for everday running.

get std mounts and fill the holes with a hard silicon sealer (?7) autovaux do the mounts cheap aswell.

You can only use Nova GSi/GTE shafts, all the others are different. GTE and GSi shafts are both the same.

All GTE/GSi shafts have 22 splines on the inner regardless, its the outer thats different with either 22 or 28 splines but they are random between all GTE/GSi's depending on whether they are the opel or the saginaw ones.

god knows, I have a spare set of GTE ones, a spare set of GSi ones and used my GSi ones on my conversion, they were all the same. Also used my mates original GTE ones in his conversion. Its detailed in the Haynes manual as well, all the other models except GTE/GSi have more splines, 28 I think.

So basically the inner CV is different on 1.6's ie GTE/GSi to the inner CV on the smaller engined models and the outer depends on who made the shaft. Therefore GSi/GTE shafts are the same and smaller engined models different and therefore won't fit in Cav inner CV.

there are 2 types of inners on the gte/gsi/td shafts you have just been lucky so far

why not just drop the front mount on the car and use the astra ally mount... no need for the carqup then

depends how much bottle he has  if he doesnt mind flogging the mount off then thats fine but if its his first 16v cutting a mount off can be more hassle for the sake of ?70?
