im in the process of re painting my engine bay. and i was wondering what people thought about seam sealer on all the seams in the bay.
i think it would look better and a bit more up to date. opinions welcome:thumb:
Smooth the innerwings round the turrets and where they meet chassis legs, looks really tidy

you can buy seam sealer tape that is made by 3m ultra tidy

Mine was a bare shell that's gone through a colour change didn't even have a wiring loom in it lol
Only one way to sort it lads lol lol

If you really wanna use seam sealant then do it very tidily. Run a rubber gloved wet finger over it to make it smooth and mark free. Looks mega clean and tidy.
Or go super smooth. I like that better.<

thats fook all my uncle use to have
-s2 lotus elan (rolling shell)
-x2 sapphire cosworths
-sierra cosworth
-p1 surbru
-mk2 jag (3.2 i think :confused:)
-turbocharged 2ltr honda type r engined lotus elan, with a exige body kit
-lotus eclat (in the back garden)
and some jap style campervan thing he use to use on race meets with the lotus, there was more in garages scatterd around north london aswell the ****ing nut job

I used it, take your time and it can look ok. The main reason I used it was because it was used when initially 2ltr converted in the late 90's and when I scraped it off the welds were as fresh as the day it was applied.

Pretty much what I did for the visable areas, good advice!
