Well i ended up swapping my leaf green saloon for my brothers civic which i'm selling as i couldn't bare for it to leave my sights, but couldn't justify keeping it. He also has been into nova's for a while now and used to own stevie p's orient blue saloon and had it caged, and then regrettably sold it (It's still sat in a barn being turned into a sprint car).

Anyways, he brought some new wheels for it, and lowered it very slightly....:thumb:
it's awaiting welding very soon and fingers crossed should be on the road early ish next year!!! :d
the front will come down abit more soon, with slightly more camber, more stretch, and the arches rolled,
the backs getting camber shims, more stretch and the arches rolled

i'll let the pictures do the talking:

Nice to see you found a home for it, love the wheels but they look like they're a way off a perfect fit.

Who was your other mate that bought a leaf green saloon? There does seem to be quite a few of them knocking about.

Steve- the wheels arn't too far off perfect fit, for the front it's getting eccentric topmounts for abit more camber, arches rolled, annd slightly more low's when the engine goes in, on the rear it'll be getting camber shimms, and the arches rolled, should sit perfectly then, they were never going to be a bolt on and go item. And my other mates called jordan hill, he never brought that saloon it was given to him by his nan that owned it from new, I'll have to get some more pictures up of how it is now.

What suspension is on the loon to get it that low?

Calamity Josh
07-11-12, 02:09 PM
It's just pro sport coilovers, wound down, helper springs out, and the back has no springs but will get 120mm springs

My AVO coilovers won't go that low, I guess they're going up f sale for a set of pro sport coilovers then! Cheers :thumb:

What size wheels and tyres do you have tho mate? and that is literally as low as it'll go, nigh on no suspension travel.

it will go lower on the front, been told the eccentric topmounts should bring it down abit? and it has no engine in it at the moment, i think the wheels are getting polished apart from the centers might go the same green as the shell

Yeah getting rid of the top cup and replacing it with an alloy topmount should shave off a bit of height.

It does look pretty smart with those alloys, will it pass an mot with the wheels sticking so far out though?

I like everything you say.

the law is that the edge of the tread of the tire must remain inside the arch, by the time the arches are rolled and it has more camber they will be inside. tyres might get a little more stretch aswell

^ is it? I was always told it was the farthest edge of tyre/wheel must be inline with the farthest out part of bodywork...

thats a quick google found picture, like that the wheels/ tyres are totaly legal as the edge of the tread is within or inline with the bodywork, thats part of the reason why people stretch tyres- so they can allow for the widest wheels possible while keeping them legal.

That pic above should warrant a prohibition order as the tyres are clearly scrubbing on the arches, so i wouldnt really use that pic to demonstrate whats classed as 'legal' lol
