View Full Version : Qmn Race today at Brands Hatch
Qmn Brands Nov3rd
Another short race for me ,managed to qualify in 4th out of 32 in a damp session ,had a good first lap or so and even managed to take the lead for a nano second then lost out to turbo power ,then had a driveshaft problem ,looking back on the video i took a fair bit of curb which i think caused the problem ,it was a real shame as the car was epic.

Holy sh1t man you've come on leaps & bounds; handling the wheel a million times better. Keeping 10 to 2 IS making you a faster driver through the corners as I can see the zero counter happening more frequently, I bet it's happening at an almost unconscious level too when you're driving like that; it almost doesn't feel out of control when the car requires counter, am I right?
That video is epic, shame about the drive shaft issue

Fukc me Jez, you were on it man, I bet matey in the Cossie wondered what was happening when you went past him.
It's coming together
Probably been asked his many times before but whats the spec of the car (inc suspension etc not just engine)

Gutted!! You were really giving it some though, I was just getting into that and your driveshaft spoil the fun :witch:
ive seen that cosworth at brands a few times, and its ****ing fast, never seen anything over take it, not even two skylines witch used to run in that class, your nova is ****ing quick and to out handle that! jezz!!
would love to have a go in that beast, looks like it ****ing flies!
Thanks for all the good comments chaps i only got past Birley as his tyres were cold he can lap sub 49 secs ,found the issue with the driveshaft today the front tie bar bkt had broken allowing the strut to move and popping the driveshaft ,wasnt so good today first time i have driven on wets got a bit excited and went off at Paddock ,did manage to get from 30th to 15th before that though
Brilliant driving Jezz, seriously epic video, shame about the driveshaft but I bet you had a grin on your face when you overtook Rod lol

awesome driving, super car, was sweating watching that. Brilliant.
Cheers it really is a cracking car to drive ,
James i did smile but knew i couldnt keep the lead but thought i would take my chance while Rods tyres were cold ,its a shame the shaft popped or i think i could of hassled him for another lap or so
Weren't you saying in the last thread that 306 is a beast too? He tried to overtake but didn't happen :d
The 306 is supercharged and was over 400bhp i was told, very fast on the straights there is another video on youtube where he passes me on the straight at a similar speed to Rod in the escos
Have you not thought about building a turbo engine to keep with the big power boys on the straights?
Them Z18XE engines like getting boosted and still a small block
No Turbo for me ,i am not sure i am racing with them next year i have been told unofficially that i am being bumped up another class which means i will be up against a 2.6 16v bmw and other very quick cars ,it seems we are being penalised for building a quick car ,it was originally a class E car and now i will be class C ,its ok at Brands as i know the circuit and it suits the car but at the longer circuits i wont stand a chance giving away over 100bhp .
Sorry for the rant but i have got the right hump about it
