What is the fitment like on new pattern wings? Iv got a new one for my car but I can save the one that's on there really. Just wondering if anyone has any experience?

I've got one pattern and one genuine wing on my Nova, and to be quite honest, I can't tell the difference. Also, if it's an OS wing (like mine) they often don't have an ariel hole, which can only be a good thing lol

Depends on the make of the pattern wing decent quality should be a good fit but cheap ones are awful

My LH one from Hadrian's was fine, RH one was not as good, and am still not happy with it, was never fitted fully prior to paint..........a lesson learned there!!

It's a o/s Hadrian panel. I'm not too bothered about it being perfect as it's only for my 5 door td, but don't want to be messing around for ages trying to get it to fit tidy!

When I converted my mk2 SR to mk1, I had to fanny on with the panels for ages, and they were still crap imo.

My Escort has pattern wings fitted and they look very good.though.

As above, depends on what they are and how well prepped they are to a large degree. Definitley paint it afterwards though, you WILL damage the surface.

Hadrian are suppose to be pretty good looks like I'l find out!
Iv fitted a pattern wing to one of my capris in the past and it was crap! Plus their weld on so took ages, ain't got the time to spare on my nova at the mo so hoping I can just bolt it on and have a bit of a play about.

They all come from Klokerholm (sp) anyway. Just depends how ****ed the presses are, and how many changes have had to be made to allow the panel to be unofficially reproduced.

Tbh the panels are probably all spot on, its the crappy OEM tolerances on the Nova thats making them look bad lol

Lol. That's true! Same with 80's fords tho, currently putting my 89 Sierra back together all original panels, the panel gaps are rubbish can't get anything to line up properly, takes ages!

Nah. They have to have differences. Although it stands to reason that on a popular car then the tooling will be wearing out, if they don't replace them.
