Started at 9.30 this morning by 12.30 she was back up running, new cambelt fitted to be safe. The exhaust note has changed alot, now has a burble even with the standard exhaust (soon to be replaced by a Magnex stainless item hopefully, Matty can you help?). Idle now runs a little lumpy but sounds great, bit rally slag which is cool..

Engine now picks up alot better off standing start, but where its really noticeable is 3rd and 4th gear, pulls really well which hints at improved torque.

I'll get the exhaust sorted and a decent filter and off down to Northampton Motorsport to get it on the rollers, could be interesting.

Cheers peeps.

Ive been out for a longer drive now, and filled up with some Optimax (had been running on it before anyhow).

Seems to be pulling quite well but it is struggling in the heat, cant wait for a nice cold day.

Deffo going to get a Magnex on it now, not sure on induction kit or modded airbox and panel filter yet though. Might get an induction kit as I like the roar and think it will sound mental now with the cam and head as it sounds quite throaty anyhow, who cares if you loose a few BHP over the modded airbox. :)

Any tips on how to mod the airbox Ben?

Is it a case of running a pipe from directly behind the grill straight intot he bottom of the box?

Seem to remember something about Blydenstein doing a proven mod which was very good for power...any gen?

I had bought it ages ago from Nova-X, allready feels more responsive it probably needs setting up though to be perfect.

No its not the full works yet.

Sort of phase 0.5. I had a head gasket leak that I wanted to sort out so I thought as I had to take the head off anyhow it would be rude not to put the tweeked one on, and then might aswell add the cam while i'm there.

Glad I did seems to be going well.

What some do is add a pipe going from the front grill and push this into the airbox, we have a GTE at the moment with no airbox bottom or filter at all and this pulls amazingly, can hear it sucking, but this isnt pratical at all.

Just drill some 10-15mm holes in the side/bottom of your airbox and add a decent panel filter. This is much better than a induction kit.

Cant belive that you asked me how to go about something after a pester you 24/7 for advice

I'm reworking the bottom of the airbox now. Got some 60mm air ducting that comes out into a carbon fibre inlet port that sits just behind the grill, this feeds back directly into the de-restricted airbox.

When its all done i'll take some pics ;)

I've done the airbox now and fitted a K+N element.

Got a nice cold air feed directly into the bottom of the box from right behind the grill, seems to work well and is alot better than the standard jobbie.
