Suspension kit on xe nova

I have come to the conclusion that my suspension is a cheap set of no branded coil overs and I'm not happy with the handling,

I had koni suspension kit on my auld Sri and liked that

If I bought gaz coil overs should it be ok with 275 lb springs on front and 160 lb on rear?

And should I buy standard or shortened shocks?

Often what people don't realise is the strength of the body and bushings have a huge effect on how "together" the "suspension" feels.

That is to say if you had a properly triangulated weld in cage, stitch welded seams throughout and at least every bush made from polyurethane, you would sense a vastly improved chassis.

I've sent my gaz kit away for refurb and orderd 325 springs all round. Plus poly bushes and the cars just been stitch welded.

Ok then you can go harder & the shell will last; imo 375 lbs/in front on something like a 4" spring and 325 lbs/in 6" rears [if on coilover there]. Let the springs do the work & don't ramp up the damping, they'll seem to hard because atm it's cold and they'll be new. Use it as a daily driver & next summer they'll be a few mm lower and worn in, feeling just right as a fast roader.

Poly bushed, stitch welded caged shell, bilstien big piston shocks and 400lb springs on mine and I don't think its too stiff for road use.

I had 500s on my daily loon with 1.6 16v, was much much better than the 200s it had on before ;)

Even works built tarmac spec rally cars dont have that higher poundage springs!
