I heard of someone, that if you remove the chrome end bit of the k and n filter it works a lot better is this true?

Is the ram-air filter, the one with a cone within another, looks a bit like a aeroplane motor thingy better then a k and n?

How can i make my filter/engine breathe better, the filter sits next to the engine, c20xe, gets very hot so sucks in hot air. Its got a cold air feed via a pipe, but i dont think it makes much difference.Any ideas?

Err, yes will work better, but won't be filtering anything anymore - So that's bad.

when the chrome bit comes off isn't it plastic behind it?
