Is it possible to fit a Quaife white nylon gear knob to the standard push on type gear stick? If not is there a look alike version that will do the job?

Yes you can
The Quaife is screwed on so you need to tap the Nova gear stick.

Dont forget there are different treads from Quaife so make sure you get correct one.
