View Full Version : To swap or not to swap

i have been offered a straight swap for my daily 08 a3 tdi for an 09 arctic corsa vxr
both have 30k miles. is this a fair swap? only thing im worried about is the piston 4 failure
as it has been remapped etc.

what do you guys think?

its a vxr...... probably been thrashed, even more so because its been modified

You would be mad to swap your audi for any kind of new style vauxhall as you should know they are s*ite in every way! If you want more power get a remap or tuning box, enjoy the extra power/torque and mpg. Your audi will last so much longer than a corsa and will hold its value alot better. You know it makes sense :thumb:. Ps I have a mk5 golf gt tdi with tunit box approx 180bhp and 300 lbs/ft torque 50mpg average and keeps with 200bhp petrols lol.

it does make sense tbh but miss having a petrol turbo on the road, i already have a tuning box in mine also, actually beat the vxr on a roling start! was before the remap though
il mayb have another shot and see how i feel. might just take my gt4 back on the road

The Corsa at the moment is worth a bit more than the A3, so makes you wonder why they want to swap. Although give it a few more years and the A3 will probably be worth more.

Anyways, keep the A3 as a daily and get the GT4 back on the road lol

It's my mates car, he knows I like it so offered the swap as there worth roughly the same? As he's going to trade it in for a ttrs, looks like il b getting moaned at from my gf aswell if I go for it so looks like the gt4 will be back on the road soon. Need a petrol turbo back in my life getting bored of using the a3 everyday.
