View Full Version : Side Repeaters
I wish to put clear oval side repeaters on my mk 1 1.4 sr and need to know what i need i have the repeaters already and i know i am going to need new orange bulbs. I have also been told that i might require a new bulb holder so that the bulb will fit in the repeater and also that i might need to change the wires to fit in the new bulb holder is this true? could someone who has done this plz tell my the simplest way to do it cheers.

i bought some clear oval ones from carisma a bit ago and it came with bulb holders and things. cut the wire to old bulb holders as close to the holder as possible (don't lose them in the wing!) and use some small spade connectors to connect to the new holder. job done!
Are my side repaters different to the rest of yours or summet. cos mine can be dissconected from the main loom, pull the plug apart , un do the earth and pull the repeater out.
the plugs are genuine GM by the looks of it.
Have alook under the plastic trim thing/ shelf to see the wires.
Just a thought , saves you cutting the wires, just disconect them

huh! do you have a late registered nova or something? mine were, by the looks of things, soldered into the original holder and then sealed with some sort of gloopy shite.
Mine don't disconnect from the loom either.

go to motorworld and take a look around the side repeaters. find the one with bulbs/holders/lenses (ford escort i think) for about ?6. then snip off your old repeaters and solder/crimp your new ones on. (the ford ones will need a small amount of filing to fit flush). then once connected stick em on with the supplied tape
