Right ive heard of people doing it years ago but dose rice in a sock stop condensation and damp in the boot of your car?
You want a bag of silicone packing beads. They abzord(sp?) moisture.
Find out where water is coming in from would be my 1st priority.
Shouldnt just condense up for no reason.
Prevention and all that.
...but yes, it will work, the rice will act like a desiccant. Silica gel will be more efficient, but as Andy said find the cause first otherwise you'll just end up with a boot full of damp rice lol
make sure you take it out of the tin first though......lol
any grain will absorb moisture, but the boot should be dry, unless you are transporting wet dogs about

Vehicles will naturally get some moisture in them as moisture is in the air and cars are not airtight. Differing surface temperatures will gather the moisture giving condensation.
I use moisture traps in all of my cars and although they are all dry inside and have no leaks the traps still gather quite a bit of water from the air so are well worth buying. The 888 and Sport are garaged but the traps in them still get water in them.
I buy mine from Morrisons, they are about £3 each for the large traps and I usually put two in each car which last for about 6 months

Its a saloon with a bit of rust so i think that the rear arches need doing aswell as the were the boot seal is under the rear window there is a tiny rust hole so when i open the boot after it has rained water that runs off the boot drips inside if you get me
