hi there i am just wondering i have a 20 seh engine n my garage and thinking of putting it in the nova what are they like i have been told they are solid we engines am just wondering are they easy to tune and can you map them and is the wireing the same as the xe as i have built and xe before cheers :thumb:

You can go for ported head, cam, valve springs, carbs, rods, pistons etc, carbs you would see better power gain, you cant map any of the standard ecu's on vauxhalls, may get a superchip though.

Solid engines 130BHP & 170NM of torque as standard. Good MPG as long as it's in a healthy condition. Cheap to service, not many sensors to go wrong. Shifts a Cavalier that weighs 1.1 tons to 60 in high 8's. IIRC Lynz on here many moons ago went on a Euro tour and her SEH did crazy MPG 45-50.

I'd do it.

i run one in a cav, easy 40 mpg on motorway runs, mid 30's on the day to day. 130,000 miles, 23 years old, still pulls well and easily keeps up with modern traffic (and puts a few to shame)

always wondered how it would go in a nova...
