Nova fuel pumps?

evening all,

Ive got a 1.6 Nova GTE rep, and it come with what appears to be a late GSI/ Astra dis pack engine, the C16SE,

Well its got the external fuel pump mounted under the drivers side of the car near the fuel tank,

My question is, im planning on running a 1.2 carb or a 1.4 carb'd engine, Would i still need this pump or can i run the origional in tank one?,

No, injection engines run at a much higher pressure. You will need a carb type fuel tank and use the engine's cam-driven fuel pump

could you not use an electric carb pump like a facet with the inj tank? assuming its not the spi tank.
