Help driving me crazy!
Recently put a 1.6 gsi injectio engine into my 1.2 nova merit which had a carb engine.

Fitted an external fuel pump at front of engine and started the car it just buzzed and then suddenly started making real noisy buzz that can be herd over the engine when started. I first thought was pump so bought another and did exact same thing!

Help please it runns fine with pump just incredibly loud!!!

Help please please!

using standard carb tank that was onnthe nova merit and also standard lines?
will it make a difference if i mount external fuel pump nearer the tank?

could be an air lock in the pump. never good to run a fuel pump in the engine bay. They are noisy by the way especially if you havnt used rubber mounts.

Where have you mounted the pump exactly? They tend to fail very very quickly if they're solidly mounted.

So your running the pump with an 6 or 8 mm feed line?

GTE/GSI pumps run 12mm feed direct from the tank, your pump may be overworked trying to draw up the required amount of fuel to flow properly.
