People usually buy silencers to go at the tip of the exhaust, securely fit it, keep it on all day!

Im hoping for a cheap home made solution if possible. Exhaust hasnt got a tail pipe on, it just comes out of the backbox and hides behind the rear bumper, euro/diesel stylee

How big is the tailpipe? Could look at some kind of bung to sit in it (my Nur Spec-R comes with a tailpipe bung which cuts about 10dB off the noise iirc)

2 1/4 iirc. Got any pics? Does this not increase back ressure drematically? Ive read on tinternet alot, use steel wool???

A temp fix:

Step 1
Drill two very small holes in your tailpipe, about 10 inches from the end.

Step 2
Shove a wad of steel wool into the tailpipe. The wad of steel wool should go in as far as the holes that were drilled. The steel wool will work as a damper to absorb some of the sound without a dramatic effect on the vehicles performance.

Step 3
Thread the wire into one hole, through the steel wool and out the other hole. Twist it around the tail pipe to secure it.
