ive got one, its a goldfish, called sharky,
its about 7 inches long, massive, tank thats just big enough for it, should be bigger.

had him for about 8 years now, sodding thing wont die!

I've got a big hexaganol tank - had some goldfish in it but they died lol.
I have two cats also - get a tank with a lid ade, no problem.

I have a goldfish at my mums, which is technically now my mums fish - which i won at the fair on the hook duck when i wa about 6 years old. must have been about that as my ickle sister was in the pram at the time i distinctly remember.

That would make that goldfish about 17 years old!!!
its fcuked like, it doesnt swim very often and when food is put in for it - usually it just waits for some to go near it before it eats any.

We had some unitl it was my brothers turn to clean them out- He used bleach so he didnt ever have to clean em out again.

We have them at work.

Trout, stuffed with prawns in a mushroom sauce.
Seabass in mild curry sauce.
Whole grilled Dover Sole.
Salmon with cucumber and dill sauce.
Plaice filled with crab, in a mild lemon sauce.
Sole Bonne Femme.
Salmon Alberto................ and etc.

one i found rather intersting was the Siamese Fighter!!!!! well cool, and actually rather pretty with its long tail :roll:

if you put a mirror by it it wud headbutt the fish tank!!!! mad fooker! honestly, supposedly if you put two together they fight till death hence the name Siamese Fighter!!!

we had 2 fish in the student house. they were invincible. theyve had kebab and all sorts of rubbish int he tank, been microwavedm over fed, under fed gave them vinegar (its the fish eqv of cocain), played catch with one of them, my mate had one on his chest for a few mins while drunk,

Ben - you should try Salmon Alberto, with lemon sauce (though i like it with mild curry sauce)! It's well nice. Easy to make too:

- get some filo pastry, roll it out.
- place the salmon fillet on it.
- mix up onions, mushrooms, basil and prawns (except those you don't like) and place ontop of the salmon
- wrap up in filo pastry.
- brush with butter and lemon
- put in oven for around 30 mins.

- then make the sauce before it's ready.

i didnt think that you had to roll the filo pastry as it tends to come in sheets.

but that sounds nice, i might have to make that soon

Cambridge - yeah it does come in sheets. Though theyre usually folded, so i just meant unfold/unroll so you can wrap the stuff in them.

me brother has had these fish for years and they cant seem to make there mind up wot they are as we used to have a heater in there cos we had some tropical fish but the others were fine with the heat but then the heater broke and we couldnt b arsed to get another but they were fine with out the heater and now they are in the garden pond and love it and the only fish ive ever named was bruno which was one of those black ones with the big eyes and weve always had cats and theyve bin fine with the fish is my hampster she tried to get

the siamese fighting fish will attack any other fish of the same species and sex as itself - but wont attack opposite sex.

however, any other species will be left alone unless:
a) it comes too close more than once.
b) it attacks it first.
c) its really hungry :lol:

cold water fish can survive at higher tropical temperatures, they generally grow larger that way... should they have the space to grow that is. Quite clver how if they have laods of room they grow big, and if they dont have much room they stay small.
