I was thinking of getting one from Halfords, but I'm wanting to know if there any good.

Ballsy, you could try looking for polish bits that fit onto drills, either that or ask at your local bodyshop what they use.

All id say is be very carefull.

My old man bought one of the ?20 car polishers from Helfords and he got a tiny bit of dirt in the wool bonnet when he was using it, before you know it it had scratched the fook out of half the car (dont really notice until you look carefully when you detail clean after polish).

They dont really save a great deal of time IMHO, much better off doing it by hand.

Unless your paint is really fooked then get an attatchment for a meduim sized grinder and go carefull.

And when using one don't do like my brother did, His old Astra GSi was red, so he gets some red colour magic polish to use on it (The liquid version not the paste one), his m8 squirts a dollop on the bonnet, my brother picks up the polisher thing, starts it spinning and hey presto!!! Red colour magic polish EVERYWHERE, it's over the walls of the garage, over the lawnmower, all over his t-shirt. Honest to god I walked in there to see how they were getting on and I thought there'd been a horrific accident or something!!!

I got one from halfords - 2 handed thing - vibrated like fcuk! you cant feel your hands afterwards!

not bad but I've only used it once and bought it 2 yrs ago.

nowt like good old elbow grease!

If you wash and polish yer car regularly this is all you need

Ive got a polisher from Argos - i have to say its crap! Its works by vibrating and then that makes the polish pad go round but its far to slow.

Also i rang to company that makes them to ask how much extra pads are ?6 for 2 :o

I only use it for puting the colour wax on the car but i take it off by hand and put auto glym on by hand too.

So really there not worth it!

Get your gf to wear white hot pants and top, and wash and polish your car for you. Then hump her as payment.

It's what women are for anyway. That, and making bacon butties.
