Have had this car almost 12 months now and now started playing with it myself I thought I would start a bit of a project thread to see what people think.

When I bought the car the conversion had already been done and in all fairness in the 12 month I have had it its never let me down which I was shocked at with it being a redtop haha.

Car when I first had it

The corsa c wheels were replaced for speedlines and lowered the coilovers a little more

Then I had a gsi kit sprayed and fitted
http://i1309.photobucket.com/albums/s635/jamie585/EBC0CF28-D6BC-448E-9673-B68E4A2A6A87-2659-000001601CE3D0D6_zpscf25bd0f.jpg

My coilovers then ceased so I replaced them for a brand new set of spax adjustables and polybushed the whole car except the front ARB as that was removed.

Then it was into the interior I had a black gsi dash which I put in instead of the grey one then fitted a cage and boarder the rear out and carpeted it

i would not mount the fuel pump next to the engine as on warm days when your sitting in traffic it heats the petrol in the pump up an it starts to vapour lock. also think these pumps prefer to push rather than pull could be wrong tho bud

Jamie.bowen
06-11-12, 05:36 PM
Ah ye I see. Anywhere else you could advise to mount it?

waggygsi
06-11-12, 05:41 PM
usually see them mounted on the boot floor or i have seem them mounted underside of the car on the flat part in front of the tank where the rear passenger foot well is

Jamie.bowen
06-11-12, 05:43 PM
Ye I no where ya mean. Ok cheers will be something to look out for that

waggygsi
06-11-12, 05:46 PM
it may be fine in the engine bay but it was a problem on a boys 1400 8v corsa b bud

Jamie.bowen

Ye will just see how it goes. Trial and error ha

After a failed attempt of getting this back on the road before Xmas it is now all ready to go for set up on friday. Done a few things along the way that I wasn't planning on doing the biggest one I guess was fitting a limited slip diff. Few other bits and bobs will sort some pictures out when I get chance

She lives :) had the car set up and put on rollers. Happy with the results just unsure how accurate they are that's all but it feels nice to drive and has some pull so all good :) just need to move my fuel pump closer to the tank and that's it all finished

The seats in the car? Just nova ones re-trimmed in leather. There not in car now though I've fitted some recaros cause didn't want leather no more. Got a better picture of the scuttle cover fitted, really happy with it :)

Looks a very nice build you've got here, I do love the sound of carbs ;)

Not overly keen on the yellow pipes as the look a bit messy but keep up the good work.

Jamie.bowen
29-01-13, 08:00 PM
Yeno what I looked at that picture when I took it and thought exactly the same about the yellow pipes, they seemed a good idea at the time but thinking of getting rid for some black ones maybe (not standard though) next up is to try get the header tank, washer bottle and the coil in the scuttle hidden underneath the scuttle cover.
