Hi, been a while since i posted on here, i have recently fitted a nova gte engine into my nova, and my car was originally a 1.2spi now it runs and everything theres just a issue where it has no power, could i fit a gte pump or will it require more? i cant really be bothered to change tank if i dont have too as it was a brand new gm part i bought a few years back , so could i run another pump aswell as mine or just replace with a gte pump? some people keep mensioning a swirl pot does my tank have one do i need one?

thanks, Luke :)

no. the gte pump is externally mounted. it is not really suitable to fit in with an spi tank.

you need a mpi fuel pump from an astra mk3, corsa b or a daewoo thing.. then you take your old one out, cut down the intake pipe on the mpi pump so it fits & then bolt it in.

the swirl pot is in built in with a gte tank, but these are rare as hens teeth.

thanks for the reply i will get a pump tomorrow then and does my tank not have a built in swirl pot then? will this cause fuel starvation in corners etc?

the spi tank has one i believe. people who have done this type of conversion have never been on here complaining about starvation on corners, its only an issue on carb tanks
