Hi just wondering if any one has an idea what sort of power my XE will be pushing out... I have ported and polished the head also all gas flowed, piper cams and twin 45 webers. Webers and cams were also brand new. Just wondering if anyone has any idea? Thanks
properly set up with a good bottom end, it all depends just what sort of porting job really, but anywhere between 25 & 50 hp increase as a guess.
but it will need to go on a rolling road to be set up properly anyway
Depending on how the spark is managed and what actual head work was done and how good the cams are you will see upto 200bhp max utterly peak but in reality more likely 180ish
What spec cams? If the fast road ones for a standard bottom end then 200-20dbhp at a push. That with good headwork, and a decent ex mani/system.
Also depends what chokes, jets etc are in the carbs and whether been jetted for peak power or low down, can't have both with carbs compared to having TB's. And also if bottom ends on its way/worn then that will defiantely lose a fair few ponies.

Ok cheers for that. The cams are a fast road profile and bottom end was rebuilt only around 8000 miles ago... Cheers
Have you had it on rollers and wondering if figures high or low? Or wanting to put it on rollers and see what its making?

I think it will be getting done in deeside
Mr mathers?
Jamie - I'd suggest taking to a.b. Garage, best lads around, no bull**** or ripping u off, very very good lsds, I get them to map/jet every car/engine I build for local lads.

Where's that at then mate? I've got a good lad on it at moment and he has a krypton tuner to set them up just need somewhere for it to go on rollers
Manor lane by the A380 building, who's the lad with the krypton tuner? Ring and speak to ade - 01244 531101, no1 comes close to these lads

Cheers mate. Not sure who he is tbh the lad who's building the engine back up for me is a lad called kelvin who works for nks performance and I think it's his brother who has a krypton tuner. Just started a thread on me car so will be updating that. Thanks for your help
They the 'supposid' scooby builders? I'd simply tow car down to a.b and let them sort it all. Avoid balmur/peter morgan in gresford, john hardmann in garden city and antonio @ a+m conversions also on same estate as hardmann, they over charge and do a **** job$

Ye that's the lot but they not actually setting it up just building everything then it is getting set up elsewhere but I may give these lads your on about a ring. And ye I do avoid them lot from gresford ha
If need any perf parts drop a message, can supply anything from stock to full race, building a forged xe at moment for mates grp4 escort if wanted to pop down for a nose, I'm only in buckley.

I don't no who's the rolling road is the lads building it for me are in Wrexham but he knows someone in deeside with rollers and ye they are 4wd cause me dad got a scooby and he had his done there
Your on about group4 motorsport, there ok for scoobys but I'd def stick with a.b.garage for carbs, group4 won't even come close to the knowledge/quality of there work. They do a lot of developement for aston martin and work on 500k-1million + bentleys so people know their good.

Dont mean to pish on your chips... however I work with the very same cars, and a lot more £££ in value also. Being good dont mean shizzle, manufacturers will go to whoever can do it for the best price.
FACT.

Confused now haha
Its not about best price, its the fact aston martin have got an owner of a db5 letting them use his car to develop an injection system and another lad making manifolds/systems, they already sacked one of their 'engine' builders because he was ****e, my mate had to sort it out for them, they don't advertise like most places, and end up getting a lot of work in because people have been to 'specialists' and done a **** job + charged a fortune. So I know its **** all to do with best price, especially when the lads paying 2k a pop for a set of manifolds to make sure the injection kit their working on is spot on;)
Jamie - group B motorsport is in deeside and have a 4wd rolling road, a.b garage is in hawarden, grp B used to do a lot with scoobies + rotary engines, but seemed to of quietened down. A.B garage do a lot for the road rally lads, autograss, do all the work for chester sports cars bike carb kit too, so you won't go wrong using them.
