The inlet doesn't looks like the central injection and I think the 1.4 and the 1.6 engine blocks are almost same

If it's a C16 they don't have a AFM

I have a feeling it's not a 1.6 think it's a 1.4 from the look of the inlet.?

Looks like my engine could well be going, to be replaced with the origional 1.2 carb engine, Today i also met teddytom as he come and took those horrible clear lights away, replaced with his standard ones, Also ended up tidying up some of the engine bay

Well, Decided on getting rid of the C16SE now as i cant legally insure a 1.6, also couldnt be arsed faffing about with the amount of wiring issues there is so purchased a new one from a member on here,

Spent today stripping the front end down, wiring loom completely out now, Exhaust system off, rad and all pipes out, Dash out for new loom, Headlights out to prevent any damages, Looking forward to getting a new engine in there and back on the road!,

As i said above, weighing up the time money and effort sorting all the wiring issues on the existing loom i decided to rip it out and start over, learn whats what and then ill know the car inside out which gives that added peace of mind. along with the new engine which will be fitted by myself, this is a learning curve for me,

Joe, your loom will be on its way to you tomorrow. I think its the right plan of attack - if you hadnt done it this way you would be constantly dealing with repairing another bodge.

It reminds me of the mk1 SR 2.0 8v that Dazz had years ago - that was as bad if not worse!

Yeah it just seems better in the lOng run, as my knowledge is limited and although there's many members on here such as yourself that are happy to help, without someone going through all the wiring id constantly be finding more and more pieces I'm not happy with, least this way I can start over

I may be interested in that engine also but won't be just yet.
Cheers mate,

Oh that 2.0 8v was bad lmao the boot corners were fibreglassed
