might be Going to look at this car early next week
i see its for sale nearly a month which is never a good sign
can anybody give me info on this and it might save me a very big trip?

Looks a nice and original car with good miles/history. Would be ideal if you were geared up to put in new arches and I don't think there would be many left as original as that one.

there was a mint looking black gsi on speedlines for sale on glasgow gumtree a couple weeks ago, think its gone now though, nicer than this one but also up for top dollar. be patient and something will come up eventually! i just missed a mint black gte last summer for 1k!

problem is alot look great with fresh paint, easy cover stuff up
id nearly prefer to buy a original 1 never painted that has a few bubbles rather that a car with fresh paint that in 6 months will be coverd in bubbles lol

Aye mine is lol. No rust (its an sr not gsi). Its good to see a nova with the original spot welds on the rear arches but if this GSI has rust on the outside of the arches then its gona be rusty on the inside aswell. Be prepared for some work. If its the car that you want because of the low miles etc then buy it! Have no regrets. All the best :thumb:
The tax disc thing confuses me. If your always gonna tax it and use it, when do it at 6 months each time. You'll spend more doing it that way...

Exactly that, there is a car place i deliver to regularly, they had an XR3i on their pitch, apparently its been there a while, its now moved round the side near the workshop and ive had a closer look, the sills are litterally see through, its on steels with four flat/cracked tyres, the wings are scrap, the doors are scrap and the price board on the passenger seat says £1995, thats why its been sat on his pitch for years and rotted away lol

Fook that, there is a really nice looking GTE in white for £1600 BIN, i know where my monies would be going if i was looking for a nova!
There is also a Q plate nova GTE in black that seems honest enough, id be keeping an eye on that one too!

If you really wanted a 'mint' GSi you'd be better of restoring one, budget 3.5k on a resto, gives a grand to buy one, simples.
dont want the hassle of building 1 to be honest, always costs double what your originally thought lol
plenty of proper mint 1.0 nova shells in southern ireland that i could use to reshell if i get really deperate, problem is they never had factory sunroof
that would annoy me!!
plus i dont want 1 coverd in welds etc so wont be restoring a rotten car
i am fussy with cars i want to keep

It's local to me but as much as its original it needs a paint....and then its not original. Agree its a 1500 car.
It's the time that most will need a refurb or will go for 4k. Do agree some will go for mk2 escort costs

Being the owner of this 'rust bucket' I thought it be only to fair I come on here and defend myself!
Car was advirtised on gumtree over a month ago to see what sort of interest it would get, u were told this when u phoned me Steven!
Only bits of rust on the car is the drivers side rear arch and couple of small spots Alex.
Scott car was advertised for over 4g as I had no intention of selling at that point my bad for not removing the add eh!
The car has only done 39000 miles from new so only ever had the one set of tyres that's why it's a selling point.
Nobody is asking for 4g for the car it's only sitting at 3G on eBay! If it makes that I'll be happy! And Scott ya pleb come see the car and comment fairly before slating a car u haven't set eyes on before! I have stated on eBay there is some surface rust and that's exactly what it has! I took honest pictures of the rear arch so u wouldn't be under any illusion u were getting a rust free gsi but in all fairness u will not get one in this condition and if u do I'll eat the car! The car hasn't been tampered with one single bit! Whoever buys this car will need to do some sort of repair to the arch if they want it to be in show condition!
2100 quid honestly I have had a laugh at that one!!!

Wee car is minted for its age, it is used and does have a bit of rust but what can u expect.

Haha. It broke for about £4.5k. I was well pleased! The shell has gone on to be a BDC competition car or 'something special'. Either way, good news.
I paid £40 for that louvre, so not a bad return. Wouldn't want one for the RS, that spoiler is enough for me! Oh yeah, and the tail lights. :d
