Has anyone ever had there driveshafts in there GTE or GSi snap or pop out? And if so do you know what power you where running? Is there a limit that they seem to have?

doubt ud do that unless u were runing something bigger than a 1.6!!

whys that? Is it because of the weight?
Im running over 180lb's ft Torque. Thats why im worried about them.

the box would go b4 shafts!

Really :o Thats good news......in a strange way. Im running an F13WR from a diesel Corsa, which in theory should be stronger than the CR (I think). Is there a nice Diesel F15 box? Just incase this one goes.

the f13wr has same stength as the f13wr. no but for gear ratio purposes i would run an f15!! i also find them to be a smoother box but might just be down the fact all the 1 iv tried have been newer than the f13s

Isn't it nearly as close ratios as the F13 though?
I love the wide ratios on my WR. It suits the Turbo set up cause on the CR it just smokes the tyres in 1st 2nd and 3rd.

So you reckon I should try the F15 Dicko? It will be stronger won't it....

the f15 is longer than the f13cr but not quite as long as the f13wr. iv had all 3 boxes on a 1.6 8v and on a 1.6 16v and found the f15 the best.

depends what kinda driving your doing. prob is with the f13wr you would be doing 40 in 2nd by the time the boost has come in!!! if your racing the other person would have left the building by that time :P

but the boost will still be in from 1st

Thankfully its not like that Dicko, Now i've got rid of the airflow meter theres virtually no lag, and as ste_sa said, the boost will come on straight away when you change because the revs are still high and the turbo's still doing god knows how many rpm.

Is there not a diesel F15 box? Or another small block box with a high F number :?:

WHAT THE FUCK R U RUNNING TO GET 180+ lbs/ft TORQUE ON A SMALL BLOCK?

Mate i dont think the F15 would be up to the job, as the F15 are made to cope 150lbs/ft Torque. i dont understand how your F13 last this long, your bulls must be big as my head.

well let us know hat u done to achieve 180 ft/lbs of Torque.

the f15 can take over 150. we all know the 130/150 rating is a load of sht.

if u want me to post the speeds/rpm in each gear on the f15 lemme know :)

and i can get over 60 in 2nd with it btw ;)
only other 1 i can remember is that 3k rpm in 5th is 60mph

Yeah that would be great Dicko, But my Max Power is at 5700rpm, no where near as high as your 16v revs to, so can you give me the speeds around that number please. That would be very useful! Thanks

:?: What do you mean? Its only a 1.6 8v

What do you mean by C/R?

sorry mate, i meant how the hell did u fit that gti throttle body and C/R means compression ratio.

thanks buddy

The GTi throttle body just needed three adjustments to fit.
1) Enlarge the 4 mounting holes slightly
2) Get a piece of hose that steps up from the normal size up to the new diameter (?7 for a Samco piece)
3) Alter the Throttle cable (Cut the old end off and use a screw electrical connection instead to attach the cable to the new throttle body.

And there you have it. A new Throttle body that is over 50% larger than the standard one.

Sorry one more thing, you put a bolt down the end of the water hoses that go round the old throttle body as you no longer need them, them cable tie them tight so no water leaks out.
