Bloody Typical isnt it, i spend years collecting parts to rebuild my silver gsi that ive had for 14 years, i get to the point where ive spent thousands of pounds, travels accross europe for parts and i'm finally ready to start

I wouldn't be quick to get rid of stuff, panels new gsi bits etc etc, you never know when you'll need them to maintain this one, IMO last thing you would want to do is sell something you might need in the future

Thankis Rich, its just a pity i cant Turbo this one, TBH the only reason id build the silver one would be to have my turbo 1.6 toy. Anything i do to this black one i'll make sure it can be reversed and put back to totaly standard, best way to keep it imo.

Mainly the bollocks wiring due to being C16 with integral loom/ecu
It wouldn't be something I could return back to standard either, mind you I'll get bored of no power and no turbo quite quickly tho lol

It still has arch lips on the quarters, the first nova I've owned like that.
The paint is a bit dull for my liking, I'll get it buffed up next year before the summer,

Lovely. Keep the speedlines, get rid of tints!

Built the turbo engine, remove car loom, fit the spare gsi loom and engine loom. See it is reversible!

I was thinking of keeping my other GSI engine and build it up over time to a good spec and then see if I should fit it, gives me the option then,

I'm with you on the tints, in the last picture it looks more like a gsi van lol but the speedos are going I already have the replacements :) just don't know if they'll fit as I've never seen another nova with them,

awesome little motor that bazil, i wouldnt sell any off those panels if it were me, say the worst thing happends and you have a bump in it at least youd have the parts to fix it up. really like this as youve said the exhaust needs to go although i like the wheels and for once i actually like the tints.

Huge update!!
Well it is for me as I worked on a nova lol

Removed the Sony radio that was fitted because I didn't really like it too much and was surprised to find a totally unmolested ISO plug !!

Then fitted my retro Alpine which still had a tape in it from 2003 !
The tape was a Rez tape from the mid 90's with Carl cox on the A side and Tom Wilson on side B
EPIC!!!

Oh and fitted 2 new track rod ends. Quite simply the most work I have done on a nova in a decade lol

I will be mate, I'll probably sell this one next year to fund the others being built, it's just really nice to drive an almost standard GSI again after nearly 10 years!
The first thing I noticed when driving it was how light and nimble it felt after 9 years of driving my S3

Well didn't know what one to play with lol, so decided to fcuk about with the black one ahead of the crail event next weekend, took the skirts of to give them a tidy up and tried the tinted rear lights, to be honest I'm not entirely sold on them to be honest. To much black for my taste :-/

That was a fcuking fail! Need a deep reach 30mm socket to get the driveshafts off,
Tried painting up there but at 3 degrees that failed too,

So fancied changing the back box today, as is the case nothing is ever simple.

Dug out my mongoose back box I had on my silver gsi, which is still in great condition despite being 15 years old, tried fitting it but it soon became obvious it didn't fit the current system, so had to dig out the rest of my mongoose system and fit it, sadly due this car having a 4 branch manifold it doesn't quite sit 100% straight so I might get it into a garage to sort it out straight but it'll do for now, sounds far better too :)

So today I had the exhaust sorted out, I took it into meercat exhaust who are only 15 mins away from me and had never heard I them before, I have to say I was very impressed with their work and prices too. They sorted out the system then cut the pipes off the back box and made up new bends to suit and tig welded it all together and refitted it, now it looks far better :)

Also had a mossy about at some of their other stuff and ill post a few pics if their Nissan GTR R35 centre section, they make the full systems in 102mm and for more pics find them on Facebook for some more pics
