Dont do it :!:

The cav engines are poo, get a nova GTE/GSi engine.

Also the Cav engines have had to pull a cavalier around all its life, a lot heavier etc more wear on the engine.

most cav 1.6s are big block. even the small block cav engines are single point injection and we all know this is poo!!

erm no
the mk3 used 1.6 smallblock and most of them were carb models.

he didnt say that at all
mk1/mk2 were bigblock , mk3 were smallblock. your be lucky to see that many mk1/2 around and also most mk3 1600's at our scrappy are all carb models

u lot have no faith with the carb models, im sure i once came arcoss a 1.6SV engine kicking 160bhp. they just as easy to tune as the 1.3, 1.4 SRs its all about swaping this with that.

1.4 head with 38/33mm valves
1.4NV cams
Weber 32/34
exhaust system

im sure the above can easly make 120Bhp

I think if u fit a 1.6 big block u gota do the same amount of work as fitting a 2.0 8v!!!!!
