Hello I'm insured atm on a nova saloon a reg 1.2 and rang my insurance to swap over to my nova hatchback g reg 1.2 and they want an extra £368 how do they work that out and how can I argue it, I thought I would just have to pay an adminstration change ? Thanks matt

They must see a hatchback as a higher risk. I'd imagine there have been much more insurance claims on hatchbacks than saloons, due to numbers of them around and a difference in types of owners. Perhaps you should weld a boot onto your hatch! or more seriously get quotes elsewhere and see if they will match them or at least get closer to a lower quote, they may well drop the price to keep you as a customer.

If you're mid-term, most insurance companies will bend you over for a change in policy. Depends if you really need that years worth of NCB

Its relative though, if you paid £3k for the 12 months on the saloon then its not so bad lol

It may be worth looking at cancellation terms against starting a new policy elsewhere...
