I bought my nova 4 weeks ago monday and i still Haven't revived my v5. I have the section that the buyer gets with the details of the car on it, but i'm starting to get annoyed as I can't tax it at the moment. The seller is only round the corner so I'll ask him when he sent of his half but any ideas on a general amount of time they take to come through? I really don't want to have to fill out a v62 and pay another £25.

I was under the impression that you can tax it with the buyer part

You can tax it with the green slip once, i had to tax my nova with it the other day as ive only had it 2 weeks

And the DVLA can/will make spelling mistakes at randon

I sent off a logbook to change a car from my sons name to mine, filled in all the bits correctly and they promptly returned the logbook after @ month still in his name!!!! ...........nkers

Use the green slip to tax the car!

I see your problem... lol

As said, can tax using buyers slip, also if you send the buyers slip when applying for a replacement v5 you won't get charged. I've had to do that before. :)

If you say you havent recieved it but you have the green slip, the seller is the one liable for the £25 not you, you will get it for free as usual.

Well thing is he never had the log book at sale as he said he was waiting for it from dvla so I bought the car with no log or proof I own it..

4 months on he told me came through an he would post it, 2 months passed an I tried calling texting seeIng where it was, he ignored me and had been for about 6 months until now he decides to blame royal mail just because I work for them, ****in prick an ill let him if see him again too..
