Spotted; OPEL GT, rare car!

Was doing a job at an elderly customers house and one of them said "don't want a class. Car do you?" They told me it was an Opel (face light up) then they said gt, which I had never even heard of let alone seen. I asked to have a look and I loved it!

Looks nice. Opel GT's were LHD only and were called the 'Mini Corvette' for obvious reasons. They sold well in the USA due to this and I think they were badged as Buick and/or Opel GT over there. They were sold in Europe including the UK aswell.
They were fitted with the early Manta 1.9 engine with injection.
I am sure this one has been for sale on Car & Classic.
My favouritr one is a white one with a red leather interior that is in the owners club.

Yes it is that one, but this has white and black leather, looks lush. It's only done 32,000 and had been garaged all its life. The bloke who owns it now has had it for 14 years and he's 80 odd. Lovely car

nice car, awful engine.... built in france iirc on a modified kadett floor pan, so they rust like hell....
