Driveshaft trouble

Hi lads, ive had my box sat around on my 20ne for a while and ive just started stripping the parts i need off the 20ne to go onto my seh, the box being one of them. Well i was giving it a coat of paint so obviously wanted both shafts out. The small shaft was a pain in the **** and i gave it a decent pull and the bloody thing came out at the joint :mad: and the ball bearings made a run for it. Ive got all the bits here and im wondering if it can be re-assembled? or will i be better off sourcing a new shaft? as i thought there was supposed to be a clip inside to stop the two parts coming apart?

if the inner cage is ok, then it should go back together ok. if its worn, and this sounds like it is, then replace it
