16v ilding to high

What can i do about my 2l 16v nova....i have just finished the converion all else is ok except that the car is idling at around 2000rpm constantly....i have cleaned all the idle control valve out and it is still not wokring..

check the throttle switch and assembly

u might find the cable is being pulled slightly and so holding the throttle partially open

you've cleaned the icv, but are you sure the hose connecting it ti the bottom of the airbox is done up tight and has no splits/perishing in the rubber?air leaks can cause rough idling.
also, not sure if it'd affect idling but check the trunking from your air filter to throttle body, small splits in this can cause runnning probs.
check throttle position sensor (bosch plug on throttle body)isnt faulty, could be sending incorrect signals to ecu..bad running.
can you test for ecu fault codes??this will normally poin t you to the sensor at fault (if it is a sensor).
try unplugging the ecu and resetting it overnight (24hrs ideally), replug in morning.
