F18 LSD or weld the original diff how easy

Looking for advise is it easy to remove F18 dif to weld as buying a LSD for the box is a fortune, bearing in mind this is for small circut racing

Its dead easy to remove a diff from an f18 box. take the box out, undo the small lock tab & unwind the bearing housing. important point, make an exact note of number of turns & start position, and you can then wind it back together easily..

How you lock it in place is up to you though.. Most people weld extra bits of metal into the gears to lock them, as the stresses are quite high

I hope it's going in the back as a locked fwd box will suck testicles.

you'd need massively different tyre sizes to eliminate torque wind up on an oval.

stu.. in the 60's, the mini racers used to run with locked diffs, and simply lit the tyres up to get round corners....lol
