well as a few who know me ive ventured a lot more into salvage so with me owning spuds old cav td i was finding it a little small to collect bonnets bumpers and the likes so the only solution was a van,
now i needed a 4 seater for travelling to work still and something reliable and good on fuel so came up trumps with this combo on copart for the sum of £450 as a non runner (faulty derv pump) and came with a rear seat conversion:p
heres my old one which i stripped and sold on for anyone who never saw it though this one will have new ideas and be far different:)
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk100/davidfox280585/combo%20and%20corsavan/02062009010.jpg
and the new van as it came

http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk100/davidfox280585/combo%20and%20corsavan/combo3.jpg
once home the strip down began, never seen this conversion carried out so jumped in with 2 feet:p

then required a donor for my very poorly van mk3 astra tds isuzu!!!
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk100/davidfox280585/combo%20and%20corsavan/WP_000264.jpg
lifting her in after i changed belts and converted it to run on the original combo charging system and alternator and a new clutch slave fitted

http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk100/davidfox280585/combo%20and%20corsavan/WP_000271.jpg
then came up with this issue fly by wire, so with some clever thinking oxy acetylene and a vice and a mk4 astra pedal i converted it to manual cable
old one fbw

sorted the wiring keeping the ecu control for the clocks and cooling system control and the glow plugs which come on automatically when you open the door so no waiting like the cav did:d
so triggered the ecu to turn the epas on, all done now awaiting rebuild

love this! i done pretty much the same thing to a mk4 astra van around 3 year ago that had the 16v isuzu td engine fitted. it decided to blow up after the engine started running on its own oil and i couldnt switch it off atoll! good luck with the build.

cheers lads its a great engine, ive turned the pump up and done aay with the polo, decat done all mot'd and taxed, its done 250 mile so far and not 1 issue well happy with it,
i picked up a damaged facelift bumper but all parts with it off a sxi with fogs and loom so just need a carcass,
i also am planning a colour change and a nudge bars and side runners
looking good mate, i love that, out with the new and in with the old lol. have you still got the 16v lump? im after the head of one. This message is from DERVY not YORKIE lol

cheers, will the pedal was a little tricky but thinking about it its pretty easy keeping the splined section off the combo pedal and reshaping and welding the astra pedal section to the combo spline,
cheers mazz,
i have bought a mint colour coded edged rear bumper in white too collect it tomorrow as my bumper is duff courtesy of being an ex roofing van,
new 195 45 16s to get rid of the stretch as its not good for daily use,
hoping to smoke my pre facelift lights and fit a facelift front and order my a bar and side runners
i can see this getting dear lol

i am thinking i should hve got speedlines but i think some bigger tyres and a drop on the van they should look ok,
will blend in when ive painted the van grey and fitted the chrome nudge bar and runners

Grey sounds good... maybe cream alloys would suit it ;)

yes the wiring looms a pig but lucky the pump loom with a million sensors is only connected to the ecu not the car harness, thats the loom i cut every plug off and fed the crank signal wire a feed from my green alternator wire as thats what turns the ecu on
there not bad to fit and far better than taking the box out
only 1 wire to my engine :d
and all the crap cutout as no longer needed :p

well not a great deal happening, bought another astra tds for another combo conversion,im thinking of building another combo for myself but using this one while i build the other so i dont have to worry about needing to rush anything ie paintwork as i use it daily and want a colour change,
anyway i dropped on a bumper in white a proper original colour coded one only 3 mile away too as mine was warped and dinted,
also fitted a aeriel as mine was snapped and filled with no nails

hello david, your red one was the nuts!! just a quick question, how did you lower it? can you use corsa b/c springs on the back or are they a different size in circumference? also can you get uprated shocks to lower it with?

It's now my everyday and I'm defo changing the front bumper and adding speedlines now !!
I've just replaced the oil pump due to pulley failure, happily the timing belt didn't come off so the engine was spared any damage.
