F13 cr with 4/18 final drive

Gte f13 cr gearbox was professionally rebuilt with new bearings and a 4.18 final drive fitted from an sr box approx 3k ago great fast road box £120 ono

Hi I have a F13 gear box fitted and the car never gets out of 4th on track. Is the 4.18 final drive lower ratio? My box will go to about 140mph wich is pointless.

4.18 will give you faster acceleration and a lower top end 4.53 is the prefered cwp but there like rocking horse do do's to find and generally sell for £200+ on there own

I have a 4.53 in my rally car and the 4.18 box was used for hillclimbs to give you an idea in 5th the 4.53 will do about 106 @ 7500 rpm and the 4.18 will do approx 122 @ 7500 I would have thought it would be very good in a track car and stil drivable on the road
