Engine swap 1.2 carb 1.2 SPI carb gear .. help

my head gasket went the other day and somone came to do it didnt time it up right screwed my engine .. so i bought a 1.2 SPI engine from a corsa put all my carb stuff on it and now i have no spark .. any ideas ??

the camshaft doesn't drive the same on a 1.2i to a 1.2 carb

what fuel pump did you use??

the 1.2 carb is actually safe enough for the timing belt to even snap & it is fine afterwards..

please post up some pics so we can work out what you actually have at the moment.

Doesn't the 1.2i have a quite different bottom end?

it will fit, but it is an emissions/economy type thing, and is vastly inferior in all other ways to the old carb 1.2

the crank case breather is different , but more to the point, arnt the dizzy's different?could be the problem

the carb one is slot drive, the spi is peg drive. it simply won't swap over unless you put the 12st cam in...

used a ticky pump , leads from dizzy was the rong way round and the coil wires had been put on rong, now all running :) thanks guys
