Started from 39th after a puncture in race 1, racing with the Tintops that are on List 1A tyres .I had trouble with overheating brakes after fitting a new splitter and badly blistered tyres .Graham Richardson was out in the Tintops you can see me pass him along the run upto Hawthorns ,managed to get the fastest lap in class with a 144:thumb:

That's one seriously quick nova. Can we see the new aero? :)

Have you changed the gear linkage too?

Only real criticism is you moving your hands on the wheel rather than using your arms & shoulders. You are a fast driver and there are some moments of brilliance, but there seems to be a few periods when you come from the attacking mindset which may well cost place(s) overall.

Even when the video finishes you're still faster than the car's in front of you which is really promising. The engine sounds bloody great and it's not even like you're having to hold peak revs through certain corners, although I can sense the frustration when you don't; you do that G-up motion in your seat :)

Gear linkage is still the same ,i agree with the mindset i drive better when i have someone to chase but i was worried with the brakes as i had no confidence in them and i was trying to understand the lack of grip and vibration towards the end as they were new tyres ,it turns out that i aquired the wrong compound.
The engine is built by AT race engines and is apparently down about 25bhp on Grahams engine ,i think someones dyno is lying .
Arms are probably seating position ,something that i hope to address over the winter

I know what you mean if something's not right then the last thing you wanna do is push harder.

Good video, well driven, BRoadGhost dose have a point you was going great guns then you seamed to back off. But I do know that feeling when your not happy with some thing on the car it puts you off your pace.

Looks good that; how far back does it go and what did you made it from?

toymex

It doesnt quite go back as far as i would like ,but the regs only allow back to centre line of front wheels ,its made of good old ply ,if it works and i can manage the heat then i may make it from something lighter

Christ that is fast. You past some cars like they have stopped. Huge cornering speeds too.

Is ply a better bet than MDF you think?

Graham Richardson in the other nova does occasionally pop up on the site ,the megane is a 2 litre 16v i believe he runs a dog box with flat shift but thats only what i have been told ,the Megane is in my class it was a real shame my tyres and brakes played up or i think we would have had a good battle for class honours

So could you run a bigger engine & still stay in that class or is it something to do power to weight ratio?

I very rarely watch videos to the end, but I couldn't drag myself away!

I could run any block that came in a nova and production heads are free ,i originally built it to run in the lower class that was any 8 valve upto 2 litre and any 16v upto 1600cc ,but they changed the class structure so i was put up a class which is upto 2 litre 16v .If funds allow 1 day it will be getting an 1800 16v but that will be a while off at the mo

Large budget lumps & drivetrains then. Just imagine where you could be with something like a 300HP XE.
