speedo went wild then stopped...help

Hi, second set of clocks I've put in now. First set, the speedo needle jus wondered up and down randomly,so changed them..second set been fine for few months then the other night went the same for few seconds then back down to 0 and aint moved since.
Speedo cable seems fine, or is it worth changing that..new clocks or can they be fixed?
bog standard clocks..no rev counter
any answers appreciated

Sounds like the speedo cable rather than clocks. Get a decent replacement rather than a cheap one on the bay and it should be fine.

Disconnect both ends and make sure it twists freely inside the sleeve first off.
