Yet another help question.

The inner CV boot has perished, and need replacing. I've taken a couple of measurements, the shaft is as normal 23mm, and sealing surface on the CV has a diameter of 56mm.

Anyone know what boot is fitted? all the nova/mk2 cav ones are 23mm/77m-80mm.

Would rather not use a cut down jobby if I can help it.

Cheers
Chris

they are listed as about 80mm for a cav mk2 1600d inner <LINKY (http://www.driveshaftstore.co.uk/index.php?search%5BpartType%5D=CV&search%5Bmake%5D=Vauxhall&search%5Bengine%5D=1600D&search%5Byear%5D=1987&search%5Bside%5D=B&searchPart=&search%5BmodelGroup%5D=Cavalier++Mk2&searchMode.x=16&searchMode.y=10)> .. are you sure that it is 56mm?? cos that is tiny

Cheers Mike, that's what I found... I've measured twice. As you can see in the pic, it's sealing to the narrower surface not the larger CV diameter. Both sides seal the same, and the spare pair of GTE shafts seal the same.

i have the same cv boot on a mk3 astra drive shaft, no idea what year or model as it was off the shelf at a local scrappie, also when ive ordered corsa cv joints in the past some have come with that style cv and others with the bigger type

I think I've found the right one, however the boot inner diameter for the shaft is 19mm not 23mm.

Is it going to be a C**T to fit?

Is it going to be a C**T to fit?

don't use grease to lube it up before fitting it to the shaft.. use a little bit of washing up liquid...

My old favourite with the mtb grips is hairspray, dries hard.

I'll give them ago.
