View Full Version : alloy wheel refurbishment

hello I have just got some alloys for my astra but two of them has some dings and one has a crack but still holds air.I know that it can be welded.What id like to know if the dings can be taken out.how much are we looking at? and weres the best place ?:thumb:

Sorry but I would weigh them in for scrap!

Take them to your local type specialist, or Google for the good local ones, I had a badly buckeld wheel fix at a local type shop, it's on my 1.2 now.
As for the crack again find a good ally welding fabrication place an they will sort that too.

Weigh them them in. With a crack i cant see how it holds air. Ok, its close to the bead but it may well leak over a period. And the flat spot means its had a hard whack. Probably need a box of weights just to balance it. Might give you god awful wheel wobble at speed.

My brother had a curved bit timber that he used to bend out similar dings and it worked.

Do as I said get a good firm to have a look at them before you "weigh them in" lol
