On the SR (carburetor) fuel tank is there a filter on the end of the pick-up pipe ?.
If so is it a large or small filter ? even better would be a photo of said item.

as far as i can remember, on the old carb type tanks there was no filter, the filter screen was actually in the fuel pump on the cam carrier.

back in the day, everybody used to fit in line filters on the rh inner arch between the tank & the pump to stop crap getting in.

To answer my own question yes there is, On the carb fuel tank it's a cylindrical filter and on the SPI fuel tank they are a flat pan type which will not fit through the hole in the Carb tank so can not be used.

carburetor fuel filter.

no mate, you are actually running a gte/gsi type efi tank there...... rare as hens teeth too....

the carb tank has pipe fittings on the front rhs, and a twist in type sender unit.

well, a gte tank with its in built swirl pot, it will certainly help your fuel supply, and that looks like a hand place to hide the facet.

Yes I've seen the large plastic pot inside the fuel tank.
