What F.... 13 or 15 ?

Engine is on its way back together now and i am now deciding what to do about a gearbox.

I like fast accelaration but dont want it to top out at 90mph.
Most will know that i will be running a 1600 16v with a powerbox and a few other bits.

I am finally going to be using a LSD so this could affect the judgement.

Dicko has just put his back together and is moaning the F15 is to long and not punchy enough.

What shall i do?

(i have both gearbox's and spares so thats not a problem)

the F15 box has the standard CR gear ratios same as the F20 and the F13CR

on some corsas it was fitted with a REALLY long final drive 3.55 if memory serves and this is why dicko is feeling the box is too long

if u were to swap the CWP out for a 4.18 or even 3.94 fd you'd find it a lot more punchy :)

only thing i dont like about mine is 2nd, all the rest are spot on

mind you when engine is mapped it shud be far beter. im 99% sure its the way its mapped that i get bugger all power below 4k. soon as i get to 4k its like a vtec throws u back in your seat to 8k :D

I dont want to drop finale drive that much as dont want to lose my top end!

loose top end. iv done over 135 with some revs stil left ;)

ben im running f15, if you come over at the weekend for the c16xe head, ill let you take it for a drive.

mine goes up to 130mph no probs, quarter mile in 15.7

still not mapped ste, looses power just under 7k revs. also dead as a door nail under 4k
