Quick question, I've got a mk1 nova. Its a 1.4sr, jus wonderin wot bhp it should be gettin as standard.
Also with following mods:

-K&N bolt on
-Straight through stainless sytem from the manifold back, PIPER to back box and TIGER back box.

As standard i wuld have said about 80bhp maybe less cos of the age of the engine. With the mods i would say add about 10 bhp??
Better wait for another reply though! :?
I've been told I should be acheiving around the 100BHP mark... :?

No chance- to be honest :!:
I would say around 80-85ish

85 tops, which is plenty
1.4SR is 72bhp as standard i think? but take into account that its an old engine and has probably lost a bit of power in those 10+years.. probably looking about 80bhp-ish with the mods 8)

I had my Mk2 1.4sr dynod at 100bhp a year ago, and that was with only a Magnex full system, pieprcross KKK air-filter (larger air intake area than K&N), splitfire triple platinum plugs and twin core leads (yeah, i know they don't affect bhp, only help ignition/to deliver a stronger spark), and the carb was the standard pieburg one, but that's been re-jetted/adjusted on a rolling road.
Was running on 15" Momo Sports then.
And i assume the figure would have been at the flywheel.
Def not at the wheels anyway.
Take it and get it Dyno'd then let us know, I reckon 83BHP.
Well I've gotta have my carb set up on the rollers i would assume, I'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong.
Would they test BHP then too, or is that toatlly different, sorry to sound stupid. :?
Paul
pmsl @ ur figures, 77bhp is realistic, mine is same setup
except i have 275 cam and flowed head
85bhp that is ;) do the maths
BTW its not all abt bhp, u do wana get some torque figures that are resonable also
:P
Will,
I reckon you're car needs a proper rolling road set-up. I reckon you could be getting a little more than you are. I know Velos had a fiddle, but did they play with jetting and advance?
