Any ideas what could be wrong with my 2l 16v nova....if i put my foot to the floor the it misses really bad but still accelarates....where as if i put my foot down gentely it will go over 6k revs fine without missing....sounds like a fueling problem to me....any ideas?

have you tried reading any fault codes the ecu may be giving?-the fuelling is all controlled by the ecu, the problem could be one of the engine sensors, i had fun with the odd faulty one or two on my last valver.
basically as long as the timing marks are all aligned correctly manually, and the plugs/leads/dizzy are good, it points to an engine sensor potentially at fault...
you say its a fueling problem but havent lised what fueling system you are using.
unless you have a mpi pump runing around 0.8bar+ with a proper tank yes very likely its a fuel problem!!

I have the same problem with my vavler, its running a standard nova GSI fuel pump and tank.
If you put ur foot down real fast, it coughs and splutters. but other than that it drives fine.
My mate is a vauxhall tech so im going see if he'll plug it into the tech computer
if you got nova gsi stuff itl be high pressure and should be fine!!
does it do the same all up the rev range or just lowish revs?
sound like the problem i had on my 1.2spi engine when the fuel pump was on its way out. it couldn't even start the 1.6 that was put in

It just does it from low revs, and only when you put the throttle down real quick. I thought maybe it was the throttle postion sensor..
hmm. could be timing related then also, or something else. if it was low fuel pressure it would more likely do it mid range wehn its usin the most fuel
