Had a few people asking about it, so might aswell make a thread. Its not a project as its staying 100% standard aside from winter time when it will get a different set of wheels to take winter tyres lol

We popped into the Slough Abarth dealer to see if we liked the A500 and to see if it was something we should look for in future.... About 10 mins into the 40min test drive we both agreed we wanted one, just I didnt realise the Mrs mean buying the one we were driving there and then lol
Picked her up in early June and got free tickets to the Trade day of the FOS which was a lovely little bonus. I have to say I loath car dealers as they are usually below estate agents in terms of being a human being, BUT the guys at Thames Fiat/Abarth are just fantastic!!! aside from not being able to tell the difference between an Evora and a Ferrari lol

The Abarth forum is funny, most posts are about some sort of iffy tuning box or about exhausts. I wrote a 'how to' jack the car up thread and it was like im a heretic (the manual states you need to goto a dealer to have the car lifted lol).

Technically it's the mrs's car, but it's replaced the Clio so really it's mine lol

Fiat 500 = benders and girls car
Abarth 500 = hetroish and girls car lol

is there much difrence to the arbarth over the standard 1.4 turbo (think its called t-jet), i can see the body is diffrent but what about the toys?


p.s i really like it, but then again i really like mx5's so i must be a gayer

iirc you cant buy a 1.4 T-Jet Fiat 500.
The Abarth has different wheels, suspension, front and rear bumpers (front is purely to fit the intercoolers in), leather interior as std and thats about it. The 500 is a very simple car so the toys arent exactly mind blowing with a headunit that can play from an iDevice or USB stick as a peak lol.

Have to say the 1.4t-Jet is one of the finest engines I've ever experienced. Tons of low down torque, pulls like a train when you need it to and will return nearly 45mpg on a run in traffic.

Probably not.. I would like a 1.4 MPI 8V engine to play with, be that a nova Sri or a Corsa B of some sort I dont know.
This is a modern nova, much like the Clio was a modern Nova.

Thought it was well known that the 500 and new ka were the same platform.

Different projects can team up with different joint ventures. Gm have zero interest in small vehicles despite their massive return.

That was its first and probably last polishing in my hands lol

Saying that, Italian cars seem to stay the colour they were painted, its not like they are German cars that fade to pink in a year.

If its wrapped you just pull the plastic off when you sell it. It also leaves the paint underneath swirl free. It works for Stobarts, after 3 years they pull the wrap off to reveal perfect paint and can command a high resale price. :)

tbh I'd only wrap it for a month or two then peel it off, saves the glue screwing the paint too much.

Err, have a word with Moike, get some made up in carbon, if theyre all nancy little tarts on the 500 forum, that like shiny bolt on crap then there is a good little earner right there i reckon:thumb:
