Routing cables, drop in cranking amps especially during the winter. Need additional clamping as well etc. but better weight distribution and lower cog.

standard place is free lol worse balance/cog.

I can see the better weight dist/ cog but moving it adds extra mounting brackets and heavy cabling etc?

I am going original position, I think lol

It's not as clear cut as that. Batteries are still heavy items. Gettin the weight lower is stil advantageous

The extra weight youll gain is like the equivalent of having 30 litres of fuel on board or 30.5 litres (example).

Yeah you might gain say a kg or two, with the wire and bracketry? But you'll shift 10-15kg into a much better place.

If you're only running one seat, or the passengers seat is far enough forward, maybe look at fitting it behind the passenger seat area for less distance (and possibly better location?)

Will be 2 seats but can prob get it behind the pass seat.

Will look into a smaller lightweight battery to offset the cabling etc.

Agreed,

Get a really lightweight one behind the passengers seat, then use some expensive feed wire to keep the weight down.

Looks very smart and keeps the small amount of weight nice and low, but personally I'd put it behind the seat (or in the footwell if your passenger seat is as far back as possible) unless you have another easily accessible +/- terminal close to the battery... Just in case it ever needs an emergency charge, or I want to charge my phone and don't have a 12v cig lighter in the car lol

Obviously use of your car is pretty specialised Martin and I'm sure you get the chance to check the battery and charge it if needed if you're planning on driving it, but it would be a consideration for other people maybe.
