normally wouldnt ask this but my haynes is at a mates.

got a new rear bumper recently and it only came with the fixings that actually part of the bumper (the small clips)

anyway how do you remove the rear bumper i've taken off the bolts but not sure how to get the side bits off.

it almost looks as if its rusted onto the bumper mountings

If it's a standard bumper the sides are just push fit.
If a bit tight give them a small thump towards the rear.

Thats correct. There are two screws with 8mm (I think it's 8mm) heads. Use a socket set to unscrew them. The screws are located inside the arch about level with the tyre wall, there are 2 on each side.

its a mk1 sr.

i've undone the bolts but was wondering if the it slides out the mounting at the sides or if you just pull them right out.

MK1 - If the two nuts inside the car are off then the bumper should slide in a straight line away from the rear. The side's are slide fit.

undo the two bolts in the boot and give it a good yank. the clip underneath may be connected though so have a quick look if it goes nowhere
