What is the engine heat @ half way on a nova mk2 dash

And are the cool running thermostat for a xe worth buying?

Thanks

Not sure what the temp at half way is but my old 20xe with a cool stat always sat at on the first quarter mark even on track

Cheers

I'm gonna have to get one then, it sits at 1/4 mark but in traffic in town it creeps up to half

That sounds normal to me if its sitting on quarter, then only goes to half in traffic, does the fan kick in as it should?

You could put the cooling fan on a over ride switch so when you get to traffic just switch it on

Half sounds fine, and if the fan automatically cuts in when it gets quite hot (near the red on the gauge?) then I'd say you have nothing to worry about

Mine sat in between 1/4 and 1/2. Fan on just above half. Don't bother with cool stat, pointless for uk.

Sitting on 1/4 fully warmed up is too cold imo.

+1. All my engines have sat just about 1/4, half on the dash is around 90deg. Which is where you want it to be.

Only 1 engine didn't and it had a "cool running" stat, it never got above 1/4, heaters where always cold and it was shocking on fuel. Binned it as soon as i could.

Engines are built to run at a temp.. Let them.

As above... 1/4 is while travelling and it creeps up to half in traffic. Just above half fan kicks in. I was thinking about cool running stat my my LET but decided not to. Engine was designed to operate and said temps so it's best to leave it. UK is cold most of the time anyway lol
